Turkey Season Fishing Trip 2011

This is year 11 for the TSFT.  The previous 10 years we have gone to Southwestern Indiana.  Over that time we have found some great spots and some terrible spots.  But after discussing last years trip for almost a year now, we decided we were in a rut.  The fishing was mediocre the last couple of years and we needed a change.  We decided to head to Northeastern Indiana for TSFT 11.

So the planning has started and a rough schedule has been made.  Looks like head North sometime as early as we can get on the road May 11th.  the tentative schedule has us fishing 2 lakes a day with a back up scheduled in case of something going sideways with Option A or B.  We then have an entire day scheduled for Chain O’ Lakes State Park which has 8 lakes in it connected by small river/creek water ways.  So 10 lakes plus the 8 lake chain in 6 days.  I’d say we are squeezing every fishing opportunity we can out of this trip.

We had this idea late last Summer and actually made it to Warsaw to fish for an afternoon on a semi-scout trip.  We enjoyed the lake and decided that’s where we would start out this coming Spring.  But that afternoon was enough recon for Alan and I.  We are currently looking at dates to make a full day Scout trip to the area.  If the weather would ever give us a decent day we’d be on the road in a heart beat.
